Credentials

 

Dr. Michael Dean Taggart is a fulltime faculty member at North Carolina A&T State University.  He operates an independent consulting practice under the name EHS Consulting.  He holds a PhD in Physics, specializing in Medical Imaging.  He also holds a post-doctoral MPH (Master of Public Health) in Occupational Health, specializing in Industrial Hygiene and Health Physics (ionizing radiation protection).

 

Dr. Taggart is recognized by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).  He is also recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

 

He has over 15 years experience in the field of Environment, Health and Safety.  He served as a health compliance officer for the North Carolina Department of Labor, Division of Occupational Safety and Health, safety manager for a major hospital system, safety manager for a Beryllium foundry, and as a consultant.
